| Required: | 3 C cornmeal 1 C flour 2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda 4 tsp baking powder 2 Tbsp sugar 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper 1 C powdered milk 2 oz jalapeno peppers, chopped 2 C grated cheese 4 eggs 6 Tbsp butter |
| Instructions: | At home, combine all dry ingredients into a large zip-loc and mix together. At camp, add cheese and peppers and mix. Melt the butter. Add melted butter, 3 cups of water, and eggs to the dry ingredients. (you can use 3 cups of milk instead of powdered milk) Mix and knead to make a batter. Pour into dutch oven. Bake at about 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 8-10. |
