Cornbread Dutch Oven Recipe

Ingredients:
aluminum pie tin
1 cup corn meal
3 tsp baking powder
2 cup flour
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup milk
Instructions:
Heat dutch oven to 350 degrees for Baking.
Combine dry ingredients.
Mix in shortening and egg.
Mix in small amounts of milk until it becomes a batter.
Pour into pie tin.
Bake about 20 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

All recipes use a 12-inch dutch oven, unless specified.
If you have a 10-inch dutch oven, use about 2/3 to 3/4 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If you have an 8-inch dutch oven, use about 1/2 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If no temperature is listed, use 350 degrees.

This recipe is so easy and delicious with a slightly crunchy bottom . It doesn't mention salt though so if you try it make sure you add a little salt. It pairs perfectly with cowboy stew or 2 hour chili!
